Connersville woman faces felony fraud charge
A Connersville woman was arrested Monday on a charge of welfare fraud..
Sandra K. Weber, 37, was arrested on a warrant on the Class C felony charge. Weber is accused of working full-time while receiving unemployment benefits of nearly $53,000.
The fraud is alleged to have occurred between April 12, 2008, and July 14, 2012, according to court documents.
The DWD uncovered the fraud when it compared wage reports and new hire data from Hoosier employers with benefit records.
The information was given to the Fayette County Prosecutor’s Office and a warrant issued for Weber’s address, according to a DWD press release. A Pal-item.com Story
