Combine leaves 3 dead, 3 Injured in Tippecanoe County

The driver of the John Deere Combine heading west on 800 South ran a stop sign at an intersection and struck a Dodge Caravan that was heading north on Indiana 25.

Tippecanoe County police said the driver of the combine, Carl Travis McFarland, 36, West Point, claimed that he did not see the minivan, and they collided in the intersection. McFarland was not injured, and has “not yet” been charged with any crimes.

Names of the victims involved will not be released until the coroner has “absolutely, positively” identified those that died, said  Tippecanoe County police. Three of the injured were reportedly juveniles and related to the deceased.
